Past Initiatives

1. CLOTHES DONATION

As the organization steps into the new year, One Purpose kicked off 2024 with a heartwarming initiative. On January 10, 2024, the team extended its compassion to the residents of Dhuskun in the Sindhupalchowk region by providing warm clothes to combat the harsh winter weather. This endeavour reflects One Purpose's commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those facing adversity, one act of kindness at a time. Shipra Neeraj, the visionary founder of One Purpose, expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for the organization's ongoing efforts. "At One Purpose, we believe in the transformative power of collective action. Our team's dedication to serving the community is a testament to the impact we can make when we come together with a shared purpose." One Purpose invites the community to join in their mission, whether through volunteering, supporting ongoing projects, or contributing to future initiatives.

One Purpose Nepal was mainly working for the education of children from marginalized communities and people who are surviving on lower incomes. Working on this motto, we were tied up with Shree Jana Uddhar Secondary School in Ramkot, Kathmandu and started supporting children of this school. As One Purpose team with our founder visited school, we found out that many children in school are wearing smaller clothes, not wearing warm clothes even in cold weather. This was the situation in their homes as well. But even with this situation they were very happy. We soon realised that we have many clothes even in our own closet which are not worn for some time that can be given to the needy ones. But the collective amount of clothes we had was not enough for all the students. Thus, started Clothes Donation Program “Share the warmth”.

One Purpose team initiated a clothes donation program through social media campaigns and personal contacts. To our surprise, even people from India and Dubai sent us clothes. Our volunteers helped us deliver the clothes to Kathmandu. More than 250KGs of clothes were collected, sanitised and distributed to the needy students of the school. Our volunteers helped us to make it successful. Through One Purpose Nepal, we are trying to bring some happiness in the faces of these children which will ultimately give us happiness and this is what One Purpose is all about.

2. SPIRIT OF GIVING

“No one has ever become poor by giving.” – Anne Frank

We believe that if we are getting something, we need to give back to society and contribute in upliftment of society in any way. People with the same thought got together who wanted to have an impact in society for good and started “Spirit of Giving”. Young entrepreneurs from different walks of life came together every year and helped local organization in need. This initiation is conducted every year during the season of festival around October. With passing time Spirit of Giving family got bigger and bigger as more people started being involved in this initiative. We decided to take it officially with the motto of reaching and supporting more people in need. With that One Purpose Nepal Organization was born.

Ongoing Initiatives

EDUCATION

Education is a backbone of society. Educating children not only changes their lives but also the lives of families, communities and also the nation and the whole world. But with a high poverty rate, children of marginalized groups most of the time are compelled to miss school to financially support the family and most often education of children is a financial burden for the family.

The pilot project of One Purpose Nepal started by supporting 2 children and soon 3 other children from “Shree Janauddhar Secondary School”. Financial responsibility for these students’ education was taken by our founder.

Gradually with support from different parts of the world, our family got bigger and bigger and now we have 70 students getting educated through our initiative.

Future Initiatives

1. MID DAY MEAL

One Purpose Nepal team is also coming forward in supporting mid-day meal of the school. We got to know that many students only have one meal in a whole day and sometimes come school empty stomach.

The amount being provided to the mid-day meal by government was not enough to have nutritious meal and was not including secondary level students. One Purpose Nepal in collaboration with RYTHM Foundation is coming up with supporting in this mid-day plan and providing safe and nutritious food to all the students of “Shree Janauddhar Secondary School”.

2. GROWING OUR FAMILY TO 1000+ CHILDREN

One Purpose Foundation is planning to grow our family to 1000 students by the end of 2023 and reach many other schools in need.
